News Release

  Update - March 5, 2005

 Hello Everyone,

I am in Athens, Texas this evening at AFU. We have already mounted the engine from the Mini Me on the new Pup airframe. Tomorrow we may have it finished or close to it, and ready for some testing. With luck I may even get to fly it by Monday. I would like to get back on the road headed for Arizona by Tuesday evening if possible. By next weekend I may be able to get back on track and make the flight to San Manuel, Cochise County and on into New Mexico.

My bag of gear is really causing me more of an issue than I had originally thought that it would, and when I get into the higher elevation airports it could cause me some unnecessary grief.

I would like to ask if anyone would consider driving the truck that I bought for this trip to Athens, for a week or two until I can make it to around Pecos, Texas. That covers the highest field elevations, and it would sure be nice to have ground support after what has already happened on the flight so far. From Pecos I have good support most of the rest of the way across the country. Of course any volunteer driver would be welcome to drive all the way to the end if they would choose to do so. I could send you a plane ticket to get you to Tucson or Phoenix and I would pick you up at the airport.

If anyone would consider this, please e-mail me at americanspirit@earthlink.net or call me at 270-293-5909. All you would need to do is drive the truck which is an automatic and bring me some fuel and drink at the stops.

Thank you and have a good one!
