Driver found! I would like to let you all know that
after posting the request for a volunteer driver last night, this
morning I received a phone call from John Labonte in St. Catherines,
Ontario Canada. He is going to catch a flight to Phoenix or Tucson on
Friday and drive my truck during the flight. I need to send him one of
the airline tickets that were donated by Clyde Conner. Thanks again
Clyde! The tickets have sure come in handy and are making it possible
for John to get to Arizona to help me get at least through the high
country, and possibly all the way to Hilton Head, depending on a few
variables.
I would also like to thank everyone else that responded to the request
for a driver. I do appreciate all of the help and kind thoughts from
everyone.
Also, the Pup is almost ready. We swapped the engine, risers, prop,
battery, strobe, landing lights, fork, tires and wheels, instruments
and pods today. Tomorrow we will finish off the installations and hang
the Pup to set the C/G. Then we can fire up the engine and dial
everything in. If the winds are favorable I will also test fly it
while I am still in Athens before heading back to Arizona on Tuesday
evening or Wednesday morning.
The Pup looks great and I am reasonably sure that I will not have
anymore frame issues on this flight, but only time will tell for sure.
:) I am very lucky to have a good friend like Don Stutts that let me
have the only Pup frame that he has left. This one came right out of
his personal collection of frames that he keeps in storage for
posterity.
Have a good one!
Steve
